The bucket colours as the plot spoiler is a great gag and it's also sort of true. A job hands you a system that complete and it starts to feel like knowledge, while the Post-it on the door is telling you to change your life. Adding this to the pile. Thanks for the recommendation. Yes to Dostoyevsky but no further allusions except for the theme. I’d start with this one. It is the one with the most heart for me.
